In December, our children participated in our second Artist Appreciation Week. Every class from Reception to Year 6 learned about a different artist, ranging from neo-pop artists and cubists, to photographers and book illustrators.
Children took part in activities across the curriculum from English and French to dance and geography, based on their chosen artist’s work and the week was bursting with fun artwork too, of course!
The children not only learned about artists and the different styles and techniques used, they also got stuck in and did some amazingly creative artwork. We discovered some great artistic talent – in the children and the adults – through painting, drawing, printing, sculpture, collage, photography and textiles work.
