    1887 - 1976

    Laurence Stephen Lowry RBA RA was an English artist. Many of his drawings and paintings depict Pendlebury, Lancashire, where he lived and worked for more than 40 years, and also Salford and its surrounding areas.

    Lowry is famous for painting scenes of life in the industrial districts of North West England in the mid-20th century. He developed a distinctive style of painting and is best known for his urban landscapes peopled with human figures often referred to as "matchstick men".

    Gabi Jimenez

    Born 1974

    Gabi Jiménez has gained a reputation as an important contemporary international artist since 2004. He has exhibited and represented the Gypsy community in the First Gypsy / Roma Pavilion in 2007, and at the 52nd Venice Biennial of Contemporary Art In 2009.

    In his colourful paintings in the style of Pop Art, we encounter innumerable small caravans, nature, magical powers and music.
